Herts District Council for supplying the following visual sketch diagrams of what you can and cannot do under
Permitted Development.
Do not use them as your sole point of reference. Use them combined with other
information and your own research. And above all, apply for a certificate of Lawful Development at your
Council to Make sure prior to starting or ordering any works.

Part 1, Classes A and D (33KB) - The enlargement, improvement
or other alteration of a dwelling house and construction of porches (does not include a roof alteration,
veranda, balcony or raised platform higher than 300mm, a microwave antenna or chimney, flue or soil and vent
pipe and, in Conservation Area or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cladding of any part of the exterior
of the dwelling house).
